Mulhan Valley

Mulhan Valley stretches across the borders of three provinces, Chungcheongbuk-do (Yeongdong), Gyeongsangbuk-do (Gimcheon), and Jeollabuk-do (Muju), where Samdobong Peak and the high mountains Seokgibong, Minjujisan, and Gakhosan, rising 1,100 to 1,200 m, surround it like a folding screen and form its deep ravine. The water is so cold that the stream was named Hancheon, and it flows about 20 km from upstream of the village. The stretch from Hwangnyongsa Temple to Yongso Pool is the most beautiful, and in summer many visitors come to escape the heat. From Mulhan-ri terminus toward Samdobong, you pass Okso Falls, Uiyonggol Falls, and Eumjuam Falls, along with Janggunbawi Rock, many pools, and forests, making the valley even more refreshing and beautiful.
