Hyangga-ri Resort Area

Hyangga-ri Resort Area has long been admired for its scenery, where poets and wealthy men once enjoyed boating with gisaeng entertainers. Along the clear Seomjin River, low mountains line the banks and a wide sandy beach of about 2 km stretches along the riverside, with rocks and old pines. The river is about 100 m wide, and the area is also known for fishing, especially in autumn when large dolbungeo are caught. Eight railway piers left in the river from an unfinished colonial-era railway between Sunchang and Namwon now support a skywalk section of tempered glass on a bike path, and nearby Daega Mineral Spring is rich in iron and other minerals.
