Baekgil Beach

Standing on the vast sandy shore of Baekgil Beach, you are greeted by a sea so exotic and beautiful it is hard to believe you are in Korea. Located on the southwestern coast of Jaeun-do, 41.3 km from Mokpo Port, the beach stretches more than 3 km along the coast with fine sand, a gentle slope and shallow water. It is 900 m long and 70 m wide (300 m at low tide), with fine-grained sand, dense pine forest and many rock-fishing spots nearby. Jaeun-do has nine beautiful sandy beaches, including Sawolpo, making it an ideal summer resort island. Since the Eunam Bridge and Apdo Bridge opened, ferries from Songgong Port on Apdo have brought a steady stream of summer visitors, and the sunset seen from the bridge is also outstanding.
